Eliminate Prey: Scorpions enter homes hunting for food. Apply residual insecticide dusts (like microencapsulated pyrethroids or silica dust) in attics, wall voids, and weep holes to eliminate crickets, roaches, and spiders.

Scorpions can scale textured vertical surfaces such as stucco, drywall, brick, wood, and bed skirts with ease. However, they cannot climb smooth surfaces like glass, polished ceramic tile, or smooth plastic.

In Beds: They access beds by climbing hanging blankets or sheets touching the floor, bed skirts, or textured wooden bedposts. Keep bed coverings elevated off the floor and pull the bed frame a few inches away from walls. Placing smooth plastic cups under bedposts stops them from climbing up.
In West Texas, scorpion activity peaks from late spring through early autumn (May through September). Rising summer heat drives them inside searching for cooler temperatures and moisture, while summer rains can flood their underground burrows. Activity slows down significantly during the cooler winter months, though they may remain hidden inside heated structures year-round.
